"There is more to each of my artworks than meets the eye. I hide messages and communicate with humor about how I observe the world".

Magnus
Magnus is a Danish multidisciplinary artist and painter who grew up, lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is best known for his large acrylic works but also oil paintings, sculptures, drawings and installations.
Magnus previously worked as an art director and graphic designer.
He began painting autodidact in his teens and continued his education in art schools. In 2014, he retired as an art director and began pursuing his blossoming artistic career full-time.
He has successfully exhibited his work at home in Copenhagen and Denmark, throughout Europe, and also New York, which was sold-out before the actual opening.
Magnus is inspired by small, everyday curiosities from which his colorful pieces are created. Inspiration comes from everywhere, people, animals, situations and news. The paintings can be categorized as figurative and narrative, sometimes placative inspired by Pop Art. Magnus is a master storyteller and it takes careful consideration to see everything in his paintings and to understand his message. The artist always starts with an idea and then lets himself be guided by the canvas and progress.
Magnus has also painted directly on walls in private homes and apartments. One of his latest custom commission pieces on canvas is a 236 x 78-inch super-sized painting , no challenge is left untried.
Magnus loves Picasso and at the start of his career as a painter he was a big influence on him. The artist’s style developed over time; at the beginning his paintings were looser rather than precise, and 'clean'. For some time after, his brush technique shone with tight precision and opaque finishes. Now, he started to do loser paintings again, introducing fantasy elements including animals and shapes. A fascinating blend of loose and tight, encompassing years of development as an artist and expression, pulls the viewer in to un-pack Magnus' message.
What many do not know about him, and it almost seems like a contradiction to his big and bold style, Magnus is not a man of many words. He does not reveal much about his paintings and asks the viewers to think for themselves and reach their own conclusion.
